Police have arrested a woman for breaching COVID-19 home quarantine requirements.

Police began searching a holiday park on Cox Road at Aldinga Beach at about 11:30am on Tuesday after being told a woman had left her nominated quarantine address in the southern suburbs.

Police said as officers approached a cabin, a man came out and ran off.

He was arrested after a short foot chase and the woman was found inside.

A 37-year-old woman from Queensland has been charged with failing to comply with a direction under the Emergency Management Act.

The 40-year-old man from Smithfield Plains has been charged with breach of bail.

They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Both have undergone rapid COVID testing and returned negative results.
