Queensland police investigate murder-suicide after fatal car crash on the Sunshine Coast

Police say suicide notes were found in the car. (Supplied)

Queensland police are investigating whether a crash on the Sunshine Coast yesterday, which killed two people, was a murder-suicide.

Emergency services were called to the crash on David Low Way at Pacific Paradise just before 7:00am, after reports a vehicle had veered into a tree.

The 69-year-old male driver and 68-year-old female passenger were both trapped before being released by firefighters and flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a serious condition.

The husband and wife later died in hospital and detectives are now investigating whether the crash was a deliberate act by the driver.

Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards confirmed suicide notes were located in the vehicle and property of the couple.

Anyone with information or dash cam vision of the crash, or the white Nissan SUV, is urged to contact police.
