Queensland man to face court over alleged Elizabeth Vale break-in where he was stabbed

Police were called to a house in Elizabeth Vale on the weekend after reports a man had broken into the property and been stabbed. (ABC News: Ethan Rix)

A 20-year-old Queensland man will face court after an alleged break-in in South Australia that ended with him being stabbed.

Emergency services were called to a house in Pasteur Street in Elizabeth Vale around 1:45pm on Saturday after reports that a man had broken into the property.

Police said the intruder was confronted by the home's occupant and was stabbed.

On Saturday, a witness said the occupant dragged the wounded man down the street to take him to the nearby Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment.

The intruder was then taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.

Once the 20-year-old was well enough to speak to police, he was reported for criminal trespass.
