Opener Bryce Street is nearing a century but Queensland are struggling to make inroads on Tasmania in their Sheffield Shield match.
The Queenslanders are 4-190 at lunch on day three in Adelaide, still 310 runs behind Tasmania's first innings of 6(dec)-500.
Street is unbeaten on 85 and eyeing a fourth first-class ton while Jimmy Peirson is not out 12.
Street lost two partners in Saturday's opening session at Karen Rolton Oval - captain Usman Khawaja and Matt Renshaw.
Khawaja made 20 before edging a wide leg-side ball from Sam Rainbird (1-38) and being superbly caught by wicketkeeper Ben McDermott, diving low to his right to complete a one-hander.
Renshaw made 11 and was trapped leg before wicket to spinner Jarrod Freeman - the lefthander tried to turn a fullish ball to the leg-side but missed.
Freeman has 2-60 from 24 overs with Lawrence Neil-Smith (1-28) the other successful bowler.
Neil-Smith on Friday removed Test star Marnus Labuschagne, who made 32 from 29 balls before edging onto his stumps.
Test discard Joe Burns (26) was also dismissed on Friday as the Bulls replied to an imposing Tasmanian total underpinned by centuries from Tim Ward (144) and Jordan Silk (100no).
