Queensferry Road crash: Police race to crash in Edinburgh after car smashes into bus stop

Emergency services, including police, fire crews and paramedics, have raced to the scene of a crash on Queensferry Road.

It is understood that a car smashed into a bus stop on the busy road, near the Tesco express store, at around 8:15pm on Wednesday night (4 March).

A clip from the scene shows there has been a large-scale response to the crash.

At least five police cars, two police vans, incident response units, recovery vehicles and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

A fire engine is said to have also attended the incident but has now left.

An eye witness said: "No idea what's happened. Someone's gone into the bus shelter on the Queensferry Road".

It is understood that no one was injured in the crash.

While traffic is getting past, the incident is causing long tailbacks on the Queensferry Road heading into Edinburgh this evening.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A car collided with a bus shelter on Queensferry Road at around 8:15pm. Emergency services attended the scene but no one was injured."
