Queensferry Crossing hotel names new general manager

The DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh – Queensferry Crossing  has appointed experienced hotelier Gavin Tannock as its new general manager.

Tannock, from Glasgow, will manage the day to-day running of the 147-bedroom property owned by Cairn Group. He said he wants to attract visitors to experience the Forth's three main crossings - the Forth Bridge, Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing.

He studying hospitality management at Glasgow College and has over 30 years’ experience having started his career in hotels at Loch Lomond and most recently led the teams at two city centre hotels in Aberdeen.

Tannock said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such a reputable group. I feel incredibly lucky to work in such a stunning environment, from the hotel itself to what’s right on our doorstep with the River Forth and its iconic bridges – it’s all about the view.

“We currently welcome a variety of visitors, some who live close by and others who have travelled from further afield to explore the nearby attractions and the capital city. I understand the importance of boosting tourism here in the area and fully support ongoing campaigns. As part of my new role, I’m keen to grow tourism attracting new guests to our venue from far and wide.”

Cairn Group’s HR director Richard Adams added: “Gavin’s experience speaks for itself having worked in various senior positions in reputable hotels throughout Scotland. His passion and enthusiasm are very apparent and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Cairn Group.”
