Queens Park Rangers handed huge boost ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Nottingham Forest’s upcoming opponents Queens Park Rangers have been handed a huge boost ahead of their clash on Friday.

QPR’s influential midfielder Sam Field has returned from injury and is in contention to feature against Forest when the two sides meet at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Field started QPR’s U23s game against Bristol City on Tuesday, managing 45 minutes as an experienced R’s side comfortably won 2-0.

The 23-year-old has only just recovered from undergoing knee surgery in the summer, so a place in the starting XI against Forest is unlikely but his great passing range and tackling ability mean he could be a danger from the bench.

If Field does make it onto the pitch, the odds will turn against Forest, as only six of his 19 appearances so far for QPR have ended in defeat.

The Red’s must therefore be cautious as they seek to get back to winning ways after suffering the first loss under Steve Cooper on Sunday against Fulham.

However, they will have had two days more rest than QPR, who are playing League One Sunderland on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup.

Forest sit 15th in the Championship, while QPR are flying high in seventh, but the game on Friday could change all that with the two sides separated by just four points in the table.

Queens Park Rangers vs Nottingham Forest is on Friday (29th October, kick-off 7:45pm).
