The most powerful women in the global magazine industry will speak at the 37th Fipp World Magazine Congress, taking place in London early next month.
Cathie Black, the president of the giant Hearst Magazines, which publishes Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping and owns Britain's The National Magazine Company, will address the International Federation of the Periodical Press conference, which is being held from 4 to 6 May, on "the magic of magazines".
Black, dubbed "the first lady of American magazines" is responsible for more than 200 editions of the company's titles in more than 100 countries, including Esquire and Harper's Bazaar. She helped to launch O, the Oprah Winfrey magazine.
Also speaking at the congress, which is hosted by the UK Periodical Publishers Association, will be Christie Hefner, the former chairman and chief executive of Playboy Enterprises; while Felix Dennis, chairman of Dennis Publishing, will talk about innovating in a downturn.
Carolyn McCall, chief executive of Guardian Media Group, publisher of MediaGuardian.co.uk; Aroon Purie, chairman and editor-in-chief, India Today Group; and John Smith, chief executive of BBC Worldwide, will talk about riding the storm of global economic trends.
Lord Heseltine, chairman of Haymarket Media Group, and Torsten J Klein, president of Gruner + Jahr International, are also due to speak.
Other speakers will include Maurice Lévy, the chairman and chief executive of advertising company Publicis Groupe; Jonathan Newhouse, the chairman of Condé Nast International; and Matt Brittin, UK country director, Google.
