The Queen is planning to return to London for her 95th birthday parade in June depending on coronavirus restrictions at the time, it is understood.

HRH has been residing at her home in Windsor Castle since the pandemic began in March.

However, according to royal aides, the 94-year-old monarch is determined to get back to business by June, with a Trooping the Colour parade to celebrate her birthday, as is tradition.

If the military parade goes ahead on 12 June as planned, it would be the first public reuinion for the royal family since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal roles in January 2020.

Royal aides have described the event as a family occasion, saying that Harry and Meghan would be invited to attend as normal.

The couple’s final public appearance as members of the royal family was on 9 March at the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth service.

The royal aide said: “The current plan is for the Queen’s birthday parade to go ahead in London as normal, with the acceptance that it may need to be adapted or scaled back depending on what guidelines are in force at the time. But the aspiration and the ultimate desire is to make it happen.”

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan declined to comment on whether or not they would attend Trooping the Colour in June.

The reports come after it was revealed that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh had been vaccinated against Covid-19.

On Saturday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the couple had been vaccinated against the virus after a household doctor administered the vaccine at Windsor Castle.
