Queen's Park Disco Sessions moved to east end with ticketholders urged to take covid test

The Queen's Park Disco Sessions, due to take place this weekend, have moved location and ticketholders are being urged to take a covid test before heading along.

The outdoor events have been moved from the south side bandstand to BAaD in the east end by organisers in light of Scotland's move to Level 0.

Ticketholders are being asked to take a covid test before arriving at the venue and could be asked to provide proof of the test through a photo.

Anyone experiencing symptoms has been told 'not come within a country mile of event' which will be one of the first to go ahead since all legal covid restrictions were lifted.

Test and Trace and a temperature check will be in place on arrival and masks will be required when entering and when being served at the bar or moving around the space.

An email sent to ticketholders details that organisers are taking covid safety policies 'extremely seriously'.

It reads: "We appeal to you to help us open up the safest way we can in order to protect our staff, the future of our events, and those in our communities - during what is still a public health emergency.

"Please do not come within a country mile of the event if you are experiencing symptoms - there will be more parties up ahead, so please just sit this one out.

"Take a test before arriving at the venue. Tests are free, easy to obtain, and take 20 minutes to carry out."

The event promises to bring the people of Glasgow the opportunity to visit an era of pure decadence, excess, glamour, and music that became the blueprint for modern-day dance music.

The Disco Sessions will be returning to BAaD on September 18 and 19.
