Queen's Medical Centre confirms temporary closure of one of its main entrances

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) has apologised ahead of the temporary closure of one it's main entrances at Queen's Medical Centre (QMC). The south block main entrance at QMC will be closed tomorrow (Saturday, April 29) as it undergoes essential maintenance work.

Patients will be unable to access the entrance from 8am to 1pm while the inner door of the entrance is fixed. NUH confirmed that alternative access is available via the goods entrance, which is situated next to the main entrance.

Last month, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said “progress is being made” on a multi-million pound project to redevelop QMC and City Hospital. Nottingham University Hospitals Trust (NUH), which runs both hospitals, was chosen by the Government as one of 40 major hospital trusts to receive a portion of a £3.7bn pot of cash for the project.

The trust has called the vast building project ‘Tomorrow’s NUH’. NUH apologised for the south block main entrance closure.

Earlier today (April 28) NUH tweeted: "The South Block main entrance to the Queen's Medical Centre will be closed on Saturday 29 April, from 8am to 1pm for essential maintenance works on the inner door. Alternative access will be via the goods entrance next to the main entrance.

"We apologise for any inconvenience."
