Queen's Jubilee weekend weather forecast for Northern Ireland

As some of us gear up for a three-day week, it's all eyes on the weather forecast for the upcoming long weekend.

Highs of 18C are expected on Saturday and Sunday with the Bank Holiday day at the end of the week also forecast to be dry.

The Met Office says Thursday, May 2 will have sunny intervals changing to cloudy by late afternoon, with highs of 16C and a late sunset of 9.50pm.

Friday's forecast is similar, but with light early-morning showers at around 7am - this will change to a cloudy but warm evening with temperatures reaching around 16C.

Saturday morning will kick off warm, with temperatures creeping up from 14C at 10am to 17C by mid-day - UV levels will be high.

And on Sunday, a Met Office spokesperson said it will be "sunny" for the full day.

This week will mark Queen Elizabeth's 70 years of service as the head of the British monarchy.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is set to be celebrated in every corner of the UK and by many across the world this week.
