Queen's impressive job title listed on death certificate praised by royal fans

The Queen's official death certificate has been released and shed light on several new details about her final moments.

The official document, released by National Records of Scotland, noted the time of her death on Thursday September 8 as 3.10pm at Balmoral. It also lists her cause of death as old age and reveals that her only daughter Princess Anne was the "informant" on the document and would have notified the local registrar of her mother’s death. The certificate also carries several pieces of personal information about the Queen including her full name - Elizabeth Alexandra Mary - and her usual residence - Windsor Castle.

But one piece of information featured on the document has charmed royal fans - and that's her job title.

On the part of the certificate where the deceased's occupation is noted, it simply says: "Her Majesty the Queen."

And many took to Twitter to praise her job description and say they "love" what was listed on the official document.

One said: "The Queen's death certificate. It's slightly surreal that it is just the same as anyone else's....but love how they describe her occupation."

Another wrote: "Occupation: "Her Majesty The Queen" certainly beats what will be recorded on mine."

One person added: " I love the fact that her occupation is 'Her Majesty the Queen'."

While another remarked: "Don’t know what I was expecting but, occupation - HM The Queen!!"

And one wrote: "There's something endearing that the Queen's death certificate lists her occupation as Her Majesty the Queen."

Meanwhile, the death certificate confirmed what was suspected on the day, that some of the Queen’s children and grandchildren tried in vain to be with her during the late monarch’s last hours - but were too late.

Prince William drove his uncles Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, who was joined by his wife Sophie Wessex, from Aberdeen airport to Balmoral, arriving just after 5pm, while Prince Harry was driven through the gates some time later.

The man who was in charge of looking after the Queen’s health was Professor Sir Huw Thomas, Head of the Medical Household and formerly physician to the Queen.

Dr Douglas Glass, who had the title Apothecary to the Queen and in 2019 acted as Charles’ physician when he made an official visit to Germany, certified the late monarch’s cause of death.

Old age is acceptable if the doctor certifying death has cared for the patient for a long time, was not aware of any disease or injury that contributed to death and had observed a gradual decline in the person’s general health and functioning.

The Queen had been experiencing sporadic mobility problems during the final period of her life and used a walking stick regularly in public.
