The Queen has sent a good luck message to the England team ahead of the Euro 2020 final against Italy tomorrow night at Wembley.
The Three Lions will face Italy in the final of Euro 2020 on Sunday at 8pm after beating Denmark in the semi-finals during extra-time.
With just over 24 hours to go, the Queen wrote a letter to manager Gareth Southgate in which she recalled her memory of presenting the World Cup to England in 1966 and seeing the joy it brought.
She wrote: "Fifty-five years ago I was fortunate to present the World Cup to Bobby Moore and saw what it meant to the players, management and support staff to reach and win the final of a major international football tournament.
"I want to send my congratulations and that of my family to you all on reaching the final of the European Championships, and send my good wishes for tomorrow with the hope that history will record not only your success but also the spirit, commitment and pride with which you have conducted yourselves."
The Queen has not been spotted at any matches during Euro 2020 and, according to a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, an announcement will be made soon if the monarch plans on attending the game, reports MyLondon.
Prince William is a big fan of the beautiful game and, having been seen at previous England games and cup finals, it is thought that the prince is likely to attend the final.
While Kate had to self-isolate for much of this week after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 she will be able to step out again this weekend.
Prince George is also a big football fan and has even been pictured bearing the Three Lions, with social media calling him a good luck charm after he was in attendance for the England v Germany win.
However, with an 8pm kickoff, his parents may prefer him to stay at home so he can go straight to bed afterwards.
Gareth Southgate and his side will have the opportunity to make themselves national heroes when they step out in front of 60,000 supporters at Wembley tomorrow night.
The Euro 2020 final is just over 24 hours away and only Italy stand between England and its first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup.
Euro 2020 is an international football tournament taking place between June 11 and July 11, 2021.

The 24-team tournament was originally due to be held in the summer of 2020 but was postponed by 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic. A dozen cities from 12 UEFA countries will host matches with the final taking place at Wembley.
The UK Government have said the venue will be at 75 percent capacity for the occasion with roughly 60,000 fans allowed to attend the match.
