Queen's emotional social media change following Prince Philip's death

The Queen's social media accounts have been updated since the death of her husband Prince Philip.

She, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cambridge changed their display pictures on Instagram and Twitter to black and white images following the Duke of Edinburgh's death on April 9.

But the Monarch has used a different picture now the two-week official mourning period has come to an end, reports the Mirror online.

The Queen had used a photo of her beaming at the camera with Phil in the background, before her husband's death.

Now, it's a solo picture taken last year during her visit to the MI5 headquarters at Thames House.

A highlights section for the Tweets sent honouring Philip's life is also now visible.

During the mourning, period the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also changed their photo to their logo in black and white for the period of royal mourning.

However, they have now returned to their previous picture, which shows them with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis clapping for carers last year.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also updated their Archewell website, which they used to share a moving tribute to Philip.

During the mourning, they removed all other information from the site so it only featured Harry's moving words.

They have now added the normal features and information back on, but have kept the tribute at the top of their site along with a moving photo.

The royal family's website has also been updated, reverting to its normal set up listing the family's work and individual profiles.

The Queen, Kate and William have all returned to work for the first time since the Duke's funeral.
