Queen's Drive incident: Man reportedly attacked by armed gang in broad daylight near Queen's Park

Police are hunting for a gang of men who reportedly attacked a man in broad daylight in the south side of Glasgow.

Officers were called to the scene on Queen's Drive shortly after 4.30 this afternoon following a report of 'a man being assaulted by a group of men with weapons'.

An area by the Number 10 Hotel near Queen's Park remains cordoned off by police this evening.

Officers say at this stage there's been no trace of anyone involved, including the victim, as an appeal is launched for anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live this evening: "Just before 4.35pm on Friday, 9 April, police received a report of a man being assaulted by a group of men with weapons in Queens Drive, Glasgow.

"Officers attended and there was no trace of any of the people involved.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the victim and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2366 of Friday, 9 April.

"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
