Queen's coat during Parliament speech stirs debate as fans can't decide if it's blue or green

The Queen has sparked an internet debate over the true colour of her coat in a throwback to the notorious debate over "the dress" in 2015.

Her Majesty's coat was the subject of intense debate as she made a speech to mark the State Opening of Parliament – following the Conservative victory in the recent election, reports the Mirror .

One person on social media said: "The Queen looks chuffed she's wearing blue."

But another tweeted: "The Queen looks like the green triangle that no one eats at Christmas."

"I reckon Queen is in Brexit colours today? Better than the royal blue hat with yellow flowers after Ref2016. #fashiontweet #QueensSpeech," another said.

One added: "Is Her Majesty the Queen wearing #green clobber to signify favouring Green Party policies #StateOpeningOfParliament."

Back in 2015, the internet got involved over the debate of what became known as "the dress".

Some saw it as white and gold, whereas others insisted it was blue and black.

Neither camp was willing to budge, a hashtag "the dress" was created, and the issue was never solved.

The Queen delivered the Queen's Speech on the Sovereign's Throne in the House of Lords chamber, during the State Opening of Parliament in the Houses of Parliament today.

Britain has had its second Queen's Speech in three months as Boris Johnson lays out his plans for a Tory majority government.

The Prime Minister today claimed the "seismic election" has given way to the "most radical Queen's Speech in a generation" that will "release the country from the stranglehold of indecision".
