Queen's business as usual plan in aftermath of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry interview

The Queen is to put on a brave face to show the world it's business as usual following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 's bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, it is claimed.

Their sit-down with the chat-show is currently airing in the US and the Royal family are bracing themselves for the fall out.

But Her Majesty, 94, 'will be seen at least once' before the end of the week regardless of any controversy.

She will ramp up engagements in an attempt to 'show where the focus is' following Sussexes' Oprah interview, the Guardian suggest.

As she carries out official duties via Zoom from Windsor Castle, the Queen is reportedly not willing to keep a low profile.

All other senior members of the Royal Family will also be 'highly visible' in the coming days.

However, no members of the family are expected to stay up into the early hours and watch.

The Palace have not – and have no plans to – make any comment on the interview.

A senior Buckingham Palace aide said: “We will see them getting on with the day job.

“There are several engagements in the diary – they’ve been there for a while.”

This will leave the public in no doubt about “where the focus is,” another source told the publication.

Mirror readers have had their say on whether The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were right to do the interview.

Most readers who filled the survey did not agree with the decision to do the tell-all chat.

Meghan said she is finally 'ready to talk' in the extended trailer for her hotly-anticipated interview.

Of the 21,862 responses collected on this question, an overwhelming 85 per cent said they did not think she made the right choice.

And from 21,810 responses to whether she should share details of her time in the royal family, 80 per cent surveyed thought she should keep details private.
