Queen's Brian May goes ga ga over Telegraph letter

Queen star Brian May has added his voice to those complaining about the Telegraph’s front-page letter from 5,000 small businesses.

It was revealed that some of the signatories were not business owners, were repeat entries, or had not agreed to be on the list.

Now May – who has said he is “not anti-Tory but anti-David Cameron” and considered standing for parliament on a “Common Decency” platform – has tweeted to say that he is “still deeply troubled” by the Telegraph front page, claiming it is “a deliberate fraud”.

Unfortunately, May said the issue should be “taken up with the Press Association” – which Monkey has always understood to be a news agency owned by some 27 different publishers.

Presumably May was thinking of the Press Complaints Commission, now superseded by the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso).

Looks like another complaint bites the dust, then.
