Rock legend Brian May says cycling saved his life after a heart attack.

The Queen guitarist “could have died” last May and needed surgery.

Brian, 73 – who also ripped his glutes during a gardening accident last year – felt low after the operation but was able to get back to health by cycling which he revealed has given him a new lease of life.

He said: “It really saved me. When I’m in pain, which I was a lot, getting on the bike makes you feel human again.”

Speaking to Kerry Ellis on her Keep Calm and Kerry On podcast, he added: “I’m finding life hard right now, this whole lockdown thing – I find the physical stuff is what gets me through.”
