Former top referee Snoddy - who officiated at both the 1986 and 1990 World Cups - is awarded an MBE for his service to football.

A number of other sportspeople have also been recognised in the List.

Meanwhile, BBC rugby commentator Jim Neilly and former Ards Swimming Club coach Nelson Wilson both receive MBEs.

Former Junior Convenor at Holywood Golf Club Eddie Harper, who gave a young Rory McIlroy his break at Holywood Golf Club, receives a BEM for services to junior golf, while William Robert Howard also collects a BEM for voluntary services to hockey and golf.

The same award goes to Matthew Shields for services to running, alongside Cookstown 100 road race secretary Norman Crooks for services to motorcycling and Audrey Barr, Project Manager for Women in Sport and Physical Activity for her services to the community in West Belfast.
