Queen of the South player dies hair pink to raise money for Breast Cancer UK

Queen of the South striker Ruben Soares Junior is hoping to score a winner for charity.

The Portuguese forward is teaming up with the Doonhamers to raise money for Breast Cancer UK. The 21-year-old has dyed his hair pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month after the mother of one of his friends died of the disease.

He said: “As everyone should know this is breast cancer awareness month and to show support I have died my hair pink and with the help of Queen of the South we are partnering with Breast Cancer UK to help in tackling this disease.

“I hope you could share and if possible contribute to this massive campaign as it means a lot to me.

“There will be a GoFundMe page to support this cause.”

The forward donned Queen of the South’s popular pink third strip in the video he posted on twitter as he launched the online fundraiser.

Queen of the South said: “Please, if you can afford to, donate to the cause. 2.3 million woman were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 alone – now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK.”
