Queen making 'unusual effort' with Meghan Markle after 'learning lessons' from Diana

The Queen has made an 'unusual effort' with Meghan Markle after learning several important lessons from her relationship with Princess Diana, a royal expert has claimed.

Duncan Larcombe believes that the Monarch is offering the new mum a number of privileges she didn't hand to the Duchess of Cambridge , including riding on the Royal Train.

Meghan was invited to join the Queen for an engagement just months after her wedding, an honour Kate had to wait much longer for .

Speaking to the Sun , Duncan said she's made an "slightly unusual effort" to welcome the former actress into the family.

He claims the Queen "obviously requested" that Meghan accompanied her on their visit to Chester last year, saying this is probably to "signal the fact that she was welcoming her into the royal family".

He believes her actions might be because of Princess Diana.

He told the Sun : "Possibly because Meghan very much burst onto the scene in a way Kate obviously didn’t.

“Everyone got to know Kate and the family long before they got engaged.

“Also possibly because of the lessons of the past where Princess Diana pretty much felt like an outsider in the royal family."

According to insiders Prince Charles's first wife didn't always feel at home as part of the Royal Family.

In a letter to a friend, she once wrote: "I do feel extremely isolated more than ever now, as I see what's coming to this country and this family.

"I feel that you believe in me, Dudley, and you've no idea what this means to me as I am continuously misunderstood by those around me."
