Queen makes heartbreaking change to her social media after Prince Philip's death

The Queen has updated her social media accounts following the death of her 'beloved' husband, Prince Philip, replacing the couple's photo with a picture of her on her own.

Following the Duke of Edinburgh's death on April 9, the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cambridge changed their pictures on Instagram and Twitter to black and white images.

Now the official two-week mourning period has ended they have returned to normal, however the Monarch has used a different picture.

Before his death, the Queen used a photo of her beaming at the camera with Phil in the background.

Now, it's a solo snap taken last year during her visit to the MI5 headquarters at Thames House.

The team have also added a highlights section for the tweets sent honouring Philip's life.

During the mourning period the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also changed their photo to their logo in black and white for the period of royal mourning.

However they have now returned to their previous picture, which shows them with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis clapping for carers last year.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have updated their Archewell website, which they used to share a moving tribute to Philip.

During the mourning, they removed all other information from the site so it only featured Harry's moving words.

They have now added the normal features and information back on, but have kept the tribute at the top of their site along with a moving photo.

The royal family's website has also been updated, reverting to it's normal set up listing the family's work and individual profiles.

The Queen, Kate and William all returned to work yesterday for the first time since the Duke's funeral.

The Monarch spoke with the Ambassador from the Republic of Latvia and the Ambassador from the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire via video call from Windsor Castle.

The Queen, no longer in a black mourning outfit, was dressed in a pale blue floral dress.

Her dress also featured large purple, white and yellow flowers, with a three-string pearl necklace and a diamond brooch as outfit accessories.

Meanwhile Kate and William had a go at driving tractors during a visit to Manor Farm, a fifth-generation family-run mixed cattle, sheep and arable farm near Darlington, County Durham.

Kate was pictured getting instructions on how to drive the tractor and laughing as she stroked one of the lambs.
