Queen hiring new housekeeper and they get to live near Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

The Queen is on the lookout for a new housekeeper to join her team of dedicated staff at Windsor Castle - and the successful candidate will live a stones throw from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry .

The full-time, permanent role comes with optional accommodation at the historical location, meaning you could be living just up the road from its most famous residents.

Housekeeping experience is a plus but not essential if you would like to be considered, and lots of training will be provided on the job.

The successful candid must "take pride in their work and aim for the highest standards".

They need to be organised, enjoy working as part of a team and have good time management.

Even though most of the work will be in Windsor the role does involve travelling to other royal locations on occasion.

Meghan and Harry live just outside the castle in Frogmore Cottage with their son Archie, and the Queen regularly stays at her Windsor home.

The job description states: "It’s working as a team to achieve exceptional results

"It’s being encouraged to gain new skills. And it’s delivering extraordinary service in incredible surroundings. This is what makes a career with the Royal Household so different.

"This is a career pathway in hospitality that will develop your housekeeping skills and expertise. Joining our professional team, you’ll upkeep, clean and care for a wide range of interiors and items, ensuring they’re presented to their very best.

"Learning from your colleagues, you’ll gain the specialist professional skills needed, always aiming for the highest standards. And you’ll welcome and take care of guests at functions and events too.

"In an environment where development and training is commonplace, you’ll be able to grow your skills."

Applications close on November 3.
