The Queen does her own make up 364 days of the year and only hires a professional for the recording of the Christmas Day message, according to reports.
Royal dresser Angela Kelly, who has worked with the Queen for 25 years, says that Her Majesty gets TV make-up artist Marilyn Widdess to do her make-up on the day the speech is filmed.
In her new book 'The Other Side of the Coin: the Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe,' she said: "You might be surprised to know that this is the only occasion throughout the year when Her Majesty does not do her own make up."
The Queen is often seen out and about with bright pink lipstick teamed with a faint blusher.
It's previously been claimed that she's a fan of Clarins lipstick, as well as Elizabeth Arden products.
Mirror Online has reported how the Queen is on the lookout for a new housekeeper to join her team of dedicated staff at Windsor Castle - and the successful candidate will live a stones throw from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry .
The full-time, permanent role comes with optional accommodation at the historical location, meaning you could be living just up the road from its most famous residents.
Housekeeping experience is a plus but not essential if you would like to be considered, and lots of training will be provided on the job.
The successful candid must "take pride in their work and aim for the highest standards".
