'I'm so pumped': Big names revealed for bushfire relief concert in Sydney

Queen and Adam Lambert, Alice Cooper, k.d lang, John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John and a host of other artists have signed on to play the national bushfire relief concert in February.

The Fire Fight Australia concert at Stadium Australia in Sydney was announced last week to raise money for communities across the country reeling from the devastating bushfires in recent months.

British rock band Queen + Adam Lambert have been confirmed for the charity event on February 16 after the band said negotiations were underway last week.

The legendary group are playing a sold-out show at the same venue on February 15 so have agreed to donate their stage set to the bushfire concert.

Shock rocker Alice Cooper, who is also touring Australia next month, has jumped on board, as well as Canadian singer-songwriter k.d lang.

Joining these international acts are a long-list of Australian heavyweights: Amy Shark, Tina Arena, Jessica Mauboy, Lee Kernaghan, Baker Boy, Guy Sebastian, ICEHOUSE, Peking Duk, Daryl Braithwaite, Delta Goodrem, Grinspoon, Hilltop Hoods, Illy, Pete Murray and William Barton.

Writer, actor and comedian Celeste Barber, who launched an online fundraiser for the Rural Fire Service which has raised $50 million, will host the nine hour concert.

"I'm so pumped … I've already started stretching," Barber said on Facebook.

All concert ticket profits will go towards rural and regional fire services, the Red Cross and the RSPCA.

The concert promoter, TEG Dainty, says there will be many more acts announced soon and they were "inundated" with offers from artists.

Tickets went on sale today at 12:00pm AEDT.
