Queanbeyan woman's unexpected $100,000 win

A Queanbeyan woman has won $100,000 from a scratchie.

The woman made a last-minute decision to buy the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket while she had free time waiting for a takeaway meal.

"I was so shocked when I saw I had won," she said.

"I ran back into the shop and the lady there just looked at the ticket and then back at me, and we just stared at each other for a while."

"We've been going through a bit of a rough time lately, so the timing couldn't be better."

"There's a lot I need to do with it, but I am sure I will find something fun to do as well."

The ticket was bought from Blooms the Chemist Karabar in Queanbeyan.

Blooms the Chemist Karabar manager Reeta Ramasamy was overjoyed for the customer.

"We are so happy for our winner, especially during these tough times," she said.

"We can only imagine how thrilled she must be."
