Quarterback Russell Wilson wants to be a Seattle Seahawk for life

Quarterback Russell Wilson signed a contract extension this week keeping him in Seattle through the next five years and making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.

Wilson told reporters during his press conference Wednesday he wants to be a Seahawk for life.

“To be honest with you, that’s why I wanted to be in Seattle,” Wilson explained. “Is just because, really from the beginning of my professional career, it started here. And my goal was to end it here. ”

At just 30 years old, Wilson has a lot of football left to play and said he is planning on a 20-year career.

“My goal is to have a lasting impression on this city and to make a lot of people cheer at the top of their lungs and win a lot of football games and hopefully, a lot of Super Bowls,” Wilson continued.

Wilson, who is now a father and a stepfather, also discussed the importance of family and location. An entrepreneur, Wilson and his wife, Ciara, operate a number of businesses out of the Pacific Northwest.

“When it came down to it, it was a no-brainer for me want to be here in Seattle,” Wilson said. “I want to be a Seahawk for life.”
