Quarterback guru: Giants’ Eli Manning ‘better now than he’s ever been’

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is never one to sit on his hands as he awaits the team’s official offseason workouts to begin, so he often gathers his local teammates for New Jersey-area workouts in April.

Such was the case earlier this month when Manning was joined by wide receiver Sterling Shepard and running back Saquon Barkley as they took over Tatlock Park in Summit, New Jersey, for a little extra work.

As it turns out however, there was an attendance beyond just the superstar trio.

In addition to Manning, Shepard and Barkley, wide receiver Corey Coleman and former Giant, Hakeem Nicks, also joined the party.

Video has now emerged from those workouts courtesy of QB Country, a quarterback training and development company out of Mobile, Alabama, and to say Manning looks dynamic and prolific would be an understatement.

“Seen Eli throw it for almost 20 years. He’s better now than he’s ever been,” the QB Country Twitter account said.

While Manning is back at work in East Rutherford now, the team will soon be sent on their way for summer vacation. Around that time, expect Manning to continue his regular offseason workouts at Duke University, where head coach David Cutcliffe often pitches in.

And if Manning returns to East Rutherford ready for the 2019 season looking this sharp, watch out — there will be a lot of people feasting on some crow pie.
