Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, the game that swept the streaming world as a demo, has finally fully released. The simulation title places players in the center of a zombie apocalypse with one simple task: keep the last checkpoint in the city infection-free. This means protecting the walls from waves of hordes, managing food and medicine supplies for the camp, and vetting incoming survivors for any signs of infection. Bite marks, red eyes, and suspicious coughs are all symptoms to keep an eye on while protecting one of the last safe places in the city.
Alongside the full release of Quarantine Zone is a free update that introduces four characters from the iconic asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight.
What is Quarantine Zone: The Last Check?

The main focus of Quarantine Zone is evaluating human survivors for any signs of a zombie infection before allowing them into the zone. Similar to the bureaucratic simulator game Papers, Please, players are set up in front of a single file queue of people, all of whom need a complete once over before they’re sent on to safety or to a less desirable fate.
At first, signs of infection are obvious. Bite marks on an arm or leg, a bloody mouth, or discolored skin mark out humans for zombification in the not-so-distant future, but with the introduction of gadgets that scan temperatures and check the status of internal organs, zeroing in on which survivors should be “liquidated” becomes more and more difficult, especially as some survivors truly do just have a normal cough.
A small quarantine area does allow players to hold survivors overnight to see how their symptoms develop, but sending multiple people in one day does carry the risk of one or more becoming an overnight snack.
Alongside the main gameplay of checking over survivors is camp management, as the slowly rising population needs food and medicine and oncoming hordes of the undead must be eliminated before they breach the camp’s walls. These portions of the game were only briefly touched upon in the demo, but have been expanded in the game’s full release.
The Quarantine Zone x Dead by Daylight collab

Just days after the full release of Quarantine Zone, a free content update added the four original survivors from Dead by Daylight. Dwight Fairfield, Meg Thomas, Claudette Morel, and Jake Park can all now appear as survivors looking for refuge, and can be just as infected as anyone else.
The crossover is small in scale since it just adds the character models of four survivors, but such a fun collaboration right out of the gate is a good sign for Quarantine Zone. Perhaps the game will have more collabs in the future with other horror brands, especially zombie-based IPs like The Walking Dead.
