Hopeful holidaymakers may have to rethink travel plans as three further destinations are at risk of being added to quarantine list.
Turkey, Greece and Croatia are the latest countries to see a worrying spike in the number of new coronavirus cases.
Thousands of Scots are thought to be abroad at the destinations - but if quarantine restrictions are imposed, they will have to isolate for 14 days on return.
Turkey saw confirmed cases soar in recent days, with over 1,200 on Sunday, as the country recorded its highest figure since June. Recording 18.5 infections per 100,000 people, it shows a significant surge since last month.
Meanwhile, Croatia has confirmed 162 new infections within the last 24 hours. With 29.3 per 100,000, the country has surpassed the UK's quarantine threshold of 20 cases per 100,000 people in a week.
Similarly, figures showed the Greece's COVID-19 infection rate almost quadrupled in two weeks.
It comes after France, the Netherlands, Monaco, Malta, Turks & Caicos and Aruba were added to the UK's quarantine list last week.
The restrictions came into place after 4am on Saturday and saw travellers scrambling to get home.
This included an Edinburgh band who were forced to flee France on a fishing boat in order to escape quarantine.
