Quandre Diggs’ Seahawks debut may have to wait a week

When the Seattle Seahawks acquired defensive back Quandre Diggs from the Detroit Lions, they hoped to get an instant safety upgrade – especially with injuries hampering both Lano Hill and Bradley McDougald.

Unfortunately things don’t always quite go to plan, and a hamstring injury may prevent Diggs from making his Seahawks debut on Sunday against the Falcons.

“He was not able to do a lot of work this week,” coach Pete Carroll commented on Friday. “We’re just training him right now. We’re not trying to rush it and just force him into it. We’re not doing that.”

Diggs played last week for the Lions, but he did miss Week 6 with a hamstring injury.

Diggs is listed as questionable for Sunday against the Falcons, although his inability to get much work in this week makes his chances of playing even slimmer.

He hasn’t had an opportunity to adjust to his teammates and play in Seattle’s defensive scheme, and it would make sense for the Seahawks to hold him out and give him another week to adjust to his new team and get his hamstring 100 percent healed.
