Quality Street fans were left disappointed this week after opening tubs to find a new flavour missing.
Earlier this year, Nestle announced it would be introducing a new Chocolate Caramel Brownie flavoured chocolate to its tubs, however unfortunately due to lockdown its release was delayed.
The pandemic meant Nestle's production lines were delayed, and although they have now returned to normal it means shoppers who have already bought Quality Street tubs have been unable to try its new flavour.
Some disappointed shoppers took to Twitter after noticing the error. User @Lorna_beth said: "Bought a box of Quality Street because why not, but mostly, I wanted to try the new #chocolatecaramelbrownie one ... Open the box only to find out there weren't any in it."
@EmmaAWheatley said: "As I’m tweeting about all of the important stuff today... I opened a box of Quality Street this evening and was excited to see a new sweet — but disappointed not to find any in the box! Is the brownie available in Ireland, or is this the beginning of Brexit?"
A spokesperson for Nestle was quick to reply to fans to explain what had happened and ensured the new flavour has been in production now for quite some time.
It said: "In order to keep Quality Street production going during the Covid-19 lockdown period, we made some temporary changes to the way we operated, such as running fewer lines for a time.

"As a result, some packs did not have all 12 varieties of Quality Street sweets in their mix. There is no change to the overall weight of our tubs, tins and cartons and any missing varieties have been replaced by another of our well-loved Quality Street selection.
"We apologise for any disappointment caused but hope consumers understand why it was necessary to make these changes during such unprecedented conditions. We hope you'll get some in your next pack."
