Quality Street is bringing back one of our favourite retro chocolates

It's been the staple of pretty much every Christmas - the tin of Nestlé's Quality Street perched on the coffee table.

But there has just been a major announcement which is likely to please fans of the Christmas chocolates everywhere!

Nestlé has said it is bringing back one of five classic flavours of the past and it's running a poll for the public to decide which chocolate returns to the tub.

One of the options actually featured in the original 1936 Quality Street selection so many people will not even have heard of some of the possibles, reports Birmingham Live.

The flavours you can vote for are:

Vanilla Octagon

Almond Octagon

Fruits of the Forest Creme

Jaffa Toffee

Coffee Creme

Jaffa Toffees

These sweets are an orange-flavoured toffee covered in orange milk chocolate.

It was first featured in the original Quality Street tins back in the 30s.

Vanilla Octagon

The Vanilla Octagon is a smooth vanilla filling covered with milk chocolate

Almond Octagon

The Almond Octagon contains crispy nut pieces.

The Fruits of the Forest Creme

This fruity number is fondant in dark chocolate.

The Coffee Creme

The coffee creme is a dark chocolate, which contains coffee fondant.

Meanwhile, the business has said it is suffering from some labour and transportation issues.

"Like other businesses, we are seeing some labour shortages and some transportation issues but it's our UK team's top priority to work constructively with retailers to supply them," said Mark Schneider, the chief executive of Nestle

A spokesperson for the company added: "We are working hard to mitigate those issues and are not seeing a material impact on supply.

"Our factory in Halifax manufactures up to 12 million Quality Street sweets every day and there will be plenty to go around this Christmas."
