Quad biker taken to hospital following crash in Rochdale

A quad bike rider has been taken to hospital following a crash in Rochdale.

Emergency services were called to Milkstone Road, near to Rochdale train station, just before 7.40pm.

An image taken from the scene shows large numbers of police vehicles and ambulances attending the incident.

The rider of the quad bike was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be serious and he was taken as a precaution.

Eyewitnesses said they heard a loud bang and believed the collision was an explosion.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at 7.38pm to one vehicle road traffic collision involving a quad bike on Milkstone Road, Rochdale.

"A male rider was taken to hospital as a precaution."
