Quad biker in hospital with serious injuries after smashing into concrete pillar

A 26-year-old man suffered serious injuries after colliding with a concrete pillar and a metal pole while riding a quad bike near Leeds.

The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday), when the man was driving a road-registered red Polaris Sportsman quad bike along Station Lane, Woodlesford.

At around 12.45am, he crashed into a concrete pillar and metal pole at the junction with the train station car park.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and found the man to be suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward - and are particularly keen to hear from those driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 6042 Gibson of the Roads Policing Unit via 101, quoting collision reference 13200299727. Alternatively, you can contact the force using their online live chat service.
