QPR to renew interest in defender previously wanted by Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Celtic

QPR are set to renew their interest in Scot McKenna in January.

The Sun report that Mark Warburton is a big fan of the Aberdeen defender, having previously tried to sign him in the summer.

Bristol City were one of a number of Championship clubs keen on him in the summer, along with Nottingham Forest, with McKenna handing in a late transfer request to try and force a move.

Celtic were also said to be interested in the defender, but Aberdeen held firm to fend off any interest.

Yet McKenna has not ruled out looking for a move in January, and QPR are keen on his signature, with Aberdeen based for more interest.

The Robins became interested in the player following the departure of Adam Webster to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Yet after failing to land McKenna, they instead secured the signing of Ashley Williams on a free transfer.

It means that the Robins seem unlikely to renew their interest in any defenders in January.
