QPR are offering fans the opportunity to win a unique prize during this summer’s transfer window – the chance to announce a new signing.
Unveilings have become part and parcel of football’s transfer culture, from Aston Villa’s Love Island reference, to Alexis Sanchez tinkling the ivories after joining Manchester United and, more recently, Borussia Dortmund’s Beatles-themed welcome for Jude Bellingham.
The initiative, in support of the QPR in the Community Trust, will see one lucky supporter briefed on news of a new arrival before it has been formally announced. The winner will then get to tweet the announcement from their own Twitter account.
They will also get the chance to meet the player in question and receive a signed shirt.
To enter the competition, fans must make a donation to the foundation through the Wishio app, with each entrant given the same chance of winning regardless of the size of their donation.
The competition is open now and runs until 8th September, with the winner getting to announce the first signing made after that date. This year’s summer’s transfer window has been extended into October because of the delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
