QPR target Nahki Wells on permanent transfer after Burnley recall striker

QPR are trying to sign striker Nahki Wells after he was recalled by his parent club Burnley.

Wells has been impressing on loan at QPR this season, scoring 15 goals in 29 appearances, and his form has attracted plenty of interest.

Both Bristol City and Nottingham Forest are chasing the 29-year-old and Burnley have duly recalled the striker so they can cash in on him.

QPR, however, are also in the running to sign Wells permanently after the club’s CEO Lee Hoos confirmed their desire to do so this morning.

“Burnley have recalled Nahki which is their right,” said Hoos.

“I wouldn’t normally make any comments regarding potential transfer targets, but in this instance it is important our supporters know we are keen to sign Nahki on a permanent basis.

“Our current valuations on the player are far apart and we cannot agree to a deal which will leave us in breach of FFP.

“We are working hard for a positive conclusion but we must ensure any agreement is financially viable for QPR."
