QPR player ratings: Tomer Hemed and Angel Rangel shine in huge victory over Swansea City

Joe Lumley – 6

His long punt helped create QPR’S second of the afternoon. He’ll want to claim an assist for that one. Had very little to do in his own area

Angel Rangel -7

Played a delightful ball through to Scowen in the build-up to the third goal. Left a couple of softeners on the dangerous Dan James, the second of which earned him a yellow card before half-time. Was clearly up for it against his old club.

Darnell Furlong – 8

Threatened to break the deadlock even before he scored, and showed great determination to head home at the near post. Did his bit defensively in the first period, too, with a bit sliding tackle to deny Wayne Routledge and a crucial interception. Was just as impressive after the break

Toni Leistner – 8

Dealt calmly with a potentially dangerous Swansea attack, frustrating them well as they looked to get back into the game.

Ryan Manning – 7

Dealt well with Nathan Dyer in the opening exchanges, not allowing himself to be drawn into any rash challenges, and put in another accomplished performance on the left of the back four.

Luke Freeman – 7

Looked to be playing with more freedom in an advanced role down the right, starting almost as a striker in the opening 10 minutes, and his pinpoint delivery helped his team open the scoring. The first to make way, but did himself proud.

Massimo Luongo – 8

Got stuck in high up the field, putting his team-mates in dangerous positions within sight of goal. Got his reward early in the second half when he was on hand to fire home and remove any concerns about a potential Swansea comeback.

Josh Scowen – 7

Booked for a needless late foul on Dan James inside the first 15 minutes, but made up for that with a lovely run and cross to create QPR’s third goal. Got himself on set-piece duties for a while, and almost caught out Nordfeldt with a cross-shot.

Jordan Cousins – 7

Good pressing high up the field, and might have had a goal with some calmer finishing. Moved to right-back late on.

Bright Osayi-Samuel – 7

Pinned the Swansea defenders back from the first whistle, winning corner after corner. Came close to scoring when his blocked shot fell to Luongo for the fourth. Only blot on his copybook came in the form of a needless yellow card for stopping Swansea keeper Nordfeldt from taking a goal-kick

Tomer Hemed – 9

Bullied Cameron Carter-Vickers brilliantly to make space to find the net for his first of the afternoon, and showed great determination to beat Mike van der Hoorn for his second. Could even have netted a hat-trick on another day, and caused problems for the Swansea defenders throughout. The big performance he needed after some less-than-impressive displays of late.

Substitutes:

Pawel Wszolek (for Freeman, 69) – Some good trademark lung-busting runs down the right, and had one late chance snuffed out by the Swansea goalkeeper – 6

Lewis Walker (for Hemed, 83) – A lovely pressure-free situation allowed the youngster to get his debut, and he made some searching runs in his short cameo – N/A

Ebere Eze (for Rangel, 88) – Introduced late on to allow Rangel to get a standing ovation – N/A
