QPR plan to turn Linford Christie Stadium into 30,000-seat community ground

QPR want to turn the Linford Christie Stadium into a new 30,000-seat community ground.

The future of the venue is up in the air, with Hammersmith and Fulham Council having launched a 12-week public consultation.

They outlined a number of scenarios, the most profitable being a multi-purpose entertainment arena with a capacity of up to 45,000. However, other options were also put forward and QPR have now outlined what they would like to do to the site if given the chance. The club are proposing a stadium which would have a strong community element and be designed for flexible use all year round.

“We believe a 30,000-seat community stadium could not only provide a new home for QPR and keep us in W12 but it could be a hub for the community on non-matchdays to benefit the local area,” said QPR chief executive Lee Hoos.
