QPR are among a host of Championship clubs interested in a move for former Bristol Rovers defender Tom Lockyer, according to a report.
The defender is a free agent after activating a relegation release clause in his Charlton contract following the Addicks relegation from the Championship back to League One.
Despite spending months outside of the relegation zone, Charlton were sent down on the final day of the season after losing 4-0 to Leeds.
And it was revealed shortly after their relegation that Wales defender Lockyer, who spent eight years at Bristol Rovers before leaving in the summer of 2019 on a free to the Valley, had a clause in his contract that he could trigger to make himself a free agent if Charlton got sent down.
Lockyer has triggered that clause, and now Talksport reporter Sean Gallagher reports that QPR are one of a number of clubs in the Championship keen to offer Lockyer a deal.
The centre-back was ever present for Lee Bowyer's side this season, missing just three games through suspension following his move from the Mem.
And it's no surprise to see clubs lining up for his signature after being one of the standouts for Bowyer's side. He is likely to be playing second tier football this season, denying him a return to the Mem in the coming campaign.
The defender made his decision to leave Rovers before the end of his contract in 2019, despite the club keen to see him stay and then boss Graham Coughlan saying he wants to keep at the club.
He made 284 appearances for Rovers after rising through the youth ranks.
