QPR 1-2 Blackburn Rovers player ratings: Bright Osayi-Samuel shines despite dull display

Joe Lumley – One huge kick out found Bright Osayi-Samuel to start a counter. Dealt unconvincingly with an Evans shot on the quarter-hour mark, but very nearly kept out Danny Graham’s first-half penalty. Unlucky with the second goal too, making a good save to deny Bradley Dack only for the ball to drop straight to the Blackburn man – 6

Pawel Wszolek – Was allowed to get forward from right-back, but there were a couple of times where he was AWOL as Amari’I Bell attacked down the Blackburn left. Got in some good attacking positions but needs to be more confident using his left foot – 6

Darnell Furlong – Authoritative in the air before the break, and made a good sliding block to keep out Jack Rodwell late on, but won’t be used to being one of the more senior defensive figures – 6

Contender for QPR managerial vacancy spotted at Championship clash with Blackburn

Joel Lynch – Could perhaps have helped Manning out more down the left, but useful in the air and not as panicked defensively as he has been in recent weeks – 6

Ryan Manning – Not tight enough on Adam Armstrong, giving the winger a presentable chance at the end of the first half and giving him space to pick out Bradley Dack for the second goal right after the restart. A learning experience for the Irishman, though a late rabona will have won him some new fans – 5

Jordan Cousins – Good movement helped QPR transition from defence to attack, and he had one presentable chance which he blazed over the bar. Suffered a nasty-looking injury at the start of the second half – 6

Ryan Manning opens up on his surprise role in QPR's survival bid ahead of Blackburn test

Josh Scowen – Was caught out far too easily for the penalty and he knew it. Some nice bursts from deep, including one which brought a low cross inches away from being turned in, but not his best afternoon – 5

Massimo Luongo – Made some trademark crunching tackles, one of which was mistimed enough to earn him a booking. Battled hard with Evans and Travis in the middle of the park – 6

Luke Freeman – Some dangerous dead-ball deliveries, but mostly huffed and puffed without end-product and got a bit too greedy at times, though his teasing cross laid on a goal for Matt Smith at the death – 6

Bright Osayi-Samuel – Lively down the left early on, and created a few chances out of nothing, but his decision-making wasn’t always the best. Picked up a needless yellow card after diving in on Elliott Bennett, but looked QPR’s man most likely to contribute in the Blackburn box – 7

Tomer Hemed – Put himself about a bit in the early reckoning and it needed a desperate block to deny him on the stroke of half-time. Was given a good battle by the Blackburn centre-backs but largely looked up for it – 6

Substitutes:

Nahki Wells (for Cousins, 52) – Forced wide in an effort to find the ball, limiting his effectiveness, and was booked for a late, tired foul on Bell and wasted QPR’s last chance of the game – 5

Matt Smith (for Hemed, 64) – Won almost everything in the air, including beating Blackburn keeper Leutwiler to head in late on – 6

Ebere Eze (for Wszolek, 74) – One nice little burst to earn Blackburn’s Rodwell a booking, but didn’t have a huge impact – 5
