Qld women charged over child left on bus

Police have charged two women with grievous bodily harm for allegedly leaving a child on a bus. (AAP)

Two women have been charged over a young Queensland girl allegedly being left in a minibus for six hours.

The three-year-old was found in critical condition outside Le Smileys Early Learning Centre at Gracemere, near Rockhampton, in May.

The child was airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital and has since recovered.

On Tuesday, Rockhampton Child Protection and Investigation Unit detectives charged each of the women with one count of grievous bodily harm.

Police allege the women picked up the child from a Gracemere home on the morning of May 4, drove to the centre and then left them inside the minibus.

The child was found unconscious around 2.45pm by another staff member who was driving the bus to a local school.

The women, who are both from Gracemere and aged 31 and 30, are due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 26.
