A man charged with a carjacking that left a woman seriously injured when she was dragged several hundred metres by the vehicle has been remanded in custody.
Theo Fewquandie, 18, allegedly got into the driver's seat of the parked Mitsubishi Lancer hatchback at a shopping centre in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, about 7pm on Monday.
The woman was sitting in the passenger seat, while a man had gone into a restaurant to get food.
Queensland Police allege the teenager pushed the woman out of the car but she ended up being "dragged for several hundred metres" when he drove off.
The car crashed into a brick retaining wall outside a church.
Fewquandie was arrested at the scene.
The 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Fewquandie's matter was mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday after he was charged with robbery with violence, deprivation of liberty, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the same court on March 1.
