QLD:Two arrested as police make move to clear Olympic site

Two people have been arrested and other protesters moved on by authorities ahead of the construction of a controversial 2032 Olympic stadium.

A bitter conflict over the future of Brisbane's inner-city Victoria Park, the site of the proposed $3.6 billion Brisbane Olympic main stadium, escalated dramatically on Friday.

Yagara elder Gaja Kerry Charlton estimated that up to 50 police arrived at the site as well as council staff.

"They all came up to my little camp, where we had about 20 tents, and they just started dismantling them and taking them away," Ms Charlton told AAP.

"We were just getting ready to go for lunch, and then we got the phone call that the police were all arriving."

She said a council officer told her that camping and the keeping of possessions were not allowed at the park.
