Two teenagers have been charged over the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in Brisbane's CBD.

Yannis Leulusoo died in hospital after being stabbed near Roma Street train station about 8pm on Thursday.

Police arrested a 16-year-old Mango Hill boy and a 17-year-old from Wooloowin in raids on Sunday.

The younger boy has been charged with murder while the other boy has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming says the investigation is ongoing and he made a fresh appeal for more information.

It's believed the teenagers had been talking in Queen Street Mall shortly before the stabbing.

Det Insp Flemming said a group moved from the mall to Emma Miller Place where the two 16 year olds appeared to have another innocuous conversation before Yannis was stabbed in the stomach.

The others ran away while the victim walked to nearby Suncorp Plaza and collapsed before a passer-by called an ambulance.

Both teenagers have been denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Brisbane Children's Court.
