A 41-year-old southeast Queensland high school teacher and sports coach accused of child exploitation offences has faced court.
Lucas John Gill, who was recently stood down from his position, was released on bail after appearing in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
As part of his bail conditions he is not allowed contact with children under 16 years old and can only access the internet for specific purposes.
Gill was arrested during a raid at his home in the Brisbane suburb of Chermside.
Detectives went to the property after a tip-off and allege the teacher had been accessing the child exploitation material via an overseas website that has encrypted cloud storage.
They seized a laptop and a smartphone that police allege contained child exploitation material.
Officers are investigating the identity of the children in the material and whether they are linked to the teacher or live in Queensland.
"Detectives are appealing for any victims who may have had contact with the man, believed to be mostly from the north Brisbane and Ipswich areas, to come forward," police said in a statement.
Gill has been charged with three counts each of possessing child exploitation material and using a carriage service to access child abuse material.
His matter has been listed for mention in the same court on August 16.
