Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll has taken aim at Clive Palmer for spreading misinformation about her vaccination status.
Palmer on social media had accused Ms Carroll of double standards, claiming she had made herself exempt from a Queensland Police vaccination mandate.
Ms Carroll on Friday initially laughed off the accusation made over a number of United Australia Party tweets before admitting she was "disappointed" with Mr Palmer.
"I was really disappointed about Clive doing that because I would have thought if you were going to say something about me publicly, you should check with me first whether I have been vaccinated," she said.
"I got the AstraZeneca by the way. And my second one was in June.
"All senior executives are vaccinated, myself included."
Ms Carroll confirmed some vaccination exemptions had been issued in the QPS but said 99.5 per cent of staff were double jabbed and she expected that number to rise under the mandate.
"Certainly there have been exemptions given in the organisation with advice from a medical practitioner so it is not in isolation ... (and) we have taken great care to ensure the right people get those exemptions," she said.
"But incredibly the agency sits at 99.5 per cent fully vaccinated.
"There are about 90 police officers and 66 staff members who aren't, however I am quietly confident that those numbers will improve."
Ms Carroll showed her vaccination status on her phone to reporters on Friday and also posted it on Instagram.
"Next time Clive can you come talk to me and we can have a conversation behind the scenes rather than putting it out on Twitter - it would help," she said.
Mr Palmer had already been called out for his tweets by Queensland Police on social media.
"I have it from a source close to the Police Commissioner that up to 126 senior police including the Commissioner herself have been granted exemptions from the QPS staff COVID vaccination mandate,'' the UAP tweet said.
"If this is the situation, what an extraordinary case of double standards to be putting themselves above other police officers and front-line workers such as nurses."
But the QPS responded on his thread with: "This is not true. The vaccine mandate applies to all QPS members. The Commissioner is fully vaccinated."
